Reuters has a quick run-thru of security developments in Pakistan

QUETTA - A police vehicle hit a roadside bomb in the southwestern city of Quetta, killing three people, including the driver, police said. Eighteen others were wounded.

MIRANSHAH - Suspected Taliban militants killed three tribesmen on suspicion of being spies for the United States in the lawless North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border. The bullet-riddled bodies were found on Sunday near the town of Mir Ali, a stronghold of the militants, intelligence officials said.

ORAKZAI - Military gunship helicopters pounded Taliban hideouts in the northwestern Orakzai tribal region, killing five militants, intelligence officials said.

KURRAM - Gunship helicopters attacked militant positions almost 300 km (180 miles) due west of Islamabad in the Kurram tribal region on the Afghan border, killing 11 militants, including a local commander, government officials said. Most of the militants in Kurram have fled Pakistan military offensives in their South Waziristan bastion and in Orakzai.
